What does your flag look like? What do the pictures and colors represent?


The kentucky State was athourized on March 26,1918. What the pictures symbolize is there were two men, a pionner and a stateman, and they sybolize "together we stand divided we fall." The colors sybolize things also. The blue means the common wealth of Kentuky and the golden thin circle around it is in Kentucky's colors. Our colors are blue, yellow and green. The words are written in those colors.

How did Kentucky get its name?

The reason why our state's name is Kentucky is back then there was a Native American named Ken-tuck and that meant "black forest" and in Kentucky there is a lot of forests and woods so they named it Kentucky.

What is New Jersey Climate Type?

New Jersey's climate type changes throughout seasons. In July the temperature averages 70 degrees. In January, the temperature averages to about 30 degrees. We get 40-50 inches of rain a year. ( All temperatures are in degrees fahrenheit)

The team names are the Nets and the Devils. The sports are basketball and hockey. The Nets play basketball. The Devils play hockey.

The knobs are very important in KY. Knobs are sudden rises in elevation. They look like small moutains.

Hey New Jersey, let me tell you about my state bird, the Cardinal. The Cardinal became the state bird of Kentucky in 1926. Six other states besides Kentucky use the Cardinal as their state bird.The Cardinal does not fly south in the winter, however they prefer areas with mild winters. The male Cardinal bird has a bright, red body with a black mask. The male Cardinal bird is much prettier than the female.

New Jersey's state bird is the American Goldfinch. The Goldfinch is about five inches long.The Goldfinch is mostly yellow with some black on it.

What Is New Jersey Known For?

New Jersey is known for many things. Each thing is unique, and they all make New Jersey such an awesome state. Something NJ is known for is that the first college football game was played in New Brunswick,NJ. Also, the first solid-body electric guitar was invented in NJ. NJ is also known for it's tale of the New Jersey Devil. The incandescent lightbulb, phonograph, and movies were invented by Thomas Edison in NJ. NJ is a great state!!!

The Atlantic Ocean is between 50 and 60 miles from our school.

Is the New Jersey devil a legend?

Yes. The New Jersey devil is a legend, still very much alive. According to the legend, people claim they have seen it. Critics say the devil looks like a serpent,with the head of a horse,wings of a bird,and claws of a dinosaur. If you see the devil it's good luck. (You can only see the devil in the Pine Barrens.)

What is Kentucky's State Tree?

It is the Yellow Poplar,also called Tulip Poplar.It is found in eastern North America and grows up to 100 feet, maybe even to 200 feet.The Yellow Poplar was adopted as Kentucky's state tree in 1994.

Are there any famous people from New Jersey?

There are many famous people from New Jersey. One of them is Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison discovered electricity. He did it by flying a kite in a lightning storm; the lightning struck the kite which made electricity.

The next one is Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi is a band from New Jersey. Bon Jovi is also a person. They're a famous band. That is why I showed it to you.


On to the next one. Shaquille O'Neal is a famous basketball player. He is famous because he is a very good player. My opinion is he will be in the Hall of Fame one day.


On to the next one: Grover Clevelend. Grover was a president of the United States. He was our 22nd and 24th president.


The last person is Bruce Springsteen. He is in a band called the E street band. He is amazing at singing. His first album was in 1973.

These are only a few of the famous people from New Jersey. There are really a LOT.

Who is Daniel Boone?

Daniel Boone is the man responsible for discovering Kentucky. He met John Finley and they both traveled into the edge of Kentucky (Daniel Boone is orginally from Pennsylvania). They stayed in Kentucky for two years and then left and moved away because it was "Too Crowded." When he was young, he started his career as a huntsman when he got his first rifle.

Is KY fried chicken made in KY? KFC is made everywhere in the world!
It was invented in Corbin, Ky. Colonel Harland Sanders started in 1930 but didn't have a restauraunt... Yet! The recipe is from Colonel Harland Sanders.
